Apollo Management International Rebrands As Sales Firm Mavryk, Takes Five Titles To AFM
EXCLUSIVE: Apollo Management International has rebranded as sales firm Mavryk and will take a slate of five features to the American Film Market next month, including Follow Me with Connie Nielsen and Seance with Connor Paolo.
Deadline announced Apollo’s move away from management and into film sales and production earlier this year. Bekkers told us of the company’s name change: “We decided to change the name to something that fits better what we’re doing and I think a name that also represents us better. We didn’t want to scale with a name that created any confusion.”
Follow Me is one of four Catalyst Studios-produced films on the slate: in addition to the Connie Nielsen film are Switch & Bait, directed by Michelle Salcedo and starring Otmara Marrero (StartUp); Verified Target; and Broken Bird, starring Rebecca Calder (The Conjuring: Last Rites).
“We’ve been committed to championing female voices in front of and behind the camera. This lineup reflects that mission: a collection of bold, elevated genre films driven by women and made for a global audience,” said Holly Anderson Levow, founder Catalyst Studios.
“Buyers are chasing elevated genre and character-driven stories with exportable talent, this slate is built for that demand,” said Greg Bekkers, founder of Mavryk.
Mavryk will continue to represent Adventure Tom starring Andrea Londo and Graham Patrick Martin and Little Brother starring JK Simmons, which have already secured multiple international territory sales.
