Central Texas Food Bank launches special SNAP food distributions

AUSTIN (KXAN) — With a pause in SNAP benefits, those in need of food assistance can receive aid from Central Texas Food Bank’s special SNAP food distributions.

Central Texas Food Bank said its special SNAP distributions would occur throughout November, and persons needing help will not need to provide an ID or proof of SNAP enrollment.

The nonprofit said special distributions would be added daily.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, benefits paused Nov. 1 due to the federal government shutdown.
