Brian Daboll’s firing leaves the Giants searching — again — for a coach to fix this

The Giants pulled the plug.

Brian Daboll was fired on Monday, one day after the Giants fell to 2-8 on the season — for the third consecutive year — with another fourth-quarter meltdown in a 24-20 loss to the Bears.

Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was forced to leave Sunday’s game due to a concussion after weeks of tempting fate and occasional visits to the medical tent. The spark Dart generated on Daboll’s watch, most recently during a four-game losing streak, ultimately was not enough for the head coach to keep his job.

Daboll, the 2022 Coach of the Year, leaves the Giants with a record of 20-40-1.
