White House Press Secretary Says Trump “Did Nothing Wrong” As Reporters Press Her On Jeffrey Epstein Emails Release

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was peppered with questions over the release earlier on Wednesday of emails from Jeffrey Epstein in which he claimed that Donald Trump “knew about the girls” and “spent hours” at Epstein’s home with one of his victims.

“These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong,” Leavitt told reporters.

“What President Trump has always said is that he was from Palm Beach, and so was Jeffrey Epstein. Jeffrey Epstein was a member at Mar-a-Lago until President Trump kicked him out because Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and a creep.”

Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three emails, including on that Epstein wrote to Ghislaine Maxwell on April 2, 2011: “I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump.. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.  Police chief. etc.     im 75 % there.”

House Republicans and the White House said that the unidentified victim in the email was Virginia Giuffre. Per CNN, she said in a 2016 deposition that she “never saw or witnessed Donald Trump participate in those acts, but was he in the house of Jeffrey Epstein? I’ve heard he has been, but I haven’t seen him myself, so I don’t know.”

Leavitt was also asked why the White House does not release all of the Epstein files and “get this all over with.” The press secretary said that the DOJ has released tens of thousands of documents and is cooperating with the Oversight Committee, while calling the push for a full release of the files a “manufactured hoax by the Democrat Party.”

Later on Wednesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson is expected to swear in newly elected House member Democrat Adelita Grijalva of Arizona. She is expected to provide the 218th signature on a petition for a full House vote to release the files.

Leavitt was asked about an ABC News report that White House officials met with Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) as part of an effort to get her to remove her name from the petition.

Leavitt responded, “Doesn’t it show transparency that members of the Trump administration are willing to brief members of Congress whenever they please? Doesn’t that show our level of transparency?” She did not deny the ABC News report, and said, “I’m not going to detail conversations that took place in the Situation Room, in the press briefing room.”
