Peabody Awards Sets 2026 Date, With Ceremony Staying In L.A.

The Peabody Awards said Wednesday that its 2026 ceremony is set for May 31, 2026 in a return to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for a third year.

The Peabodys, in their 86th year, celebrate impactful stories across the fields of entertainment, documentary, news, podcast/radio, arts, children’s and youth, immersive and interactive media, and public service programming.

Nominees will be revealed in April, with winners to be announced in May. All nominees and winners must receive a unanimous vote by the board of jurors, made up of media industry professionals, journalists, critics and scholars.

The Peabody program is based at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.

“We look forward to honoring the creators, journalists, and visionaries who continue to make Peabody the foremost honor for impactful storytelling,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody. “In a particularly fractured time, our mission at Peabody remains to celebrate stories that unite audiences and explore the richness of humanity through diverse perspectives.”

The 2025 Peabodys ceremony was hosted by Roy Wood Jr and in addition to winners honored Andrea Mitchell with the Peabody Career Achievement Award and Saturday Night Live with the Peabody Institutional Award. Among the 34 winners were the series Shōgun, Baby Reindeer and Fantasmas.
