Jeremy Allen White Reveals the Name He Actually Uses in Real Life

Jeremy Allen White isn’t so formal in his daily life. 

The Bear actor recently shared that he doesn’t actually go by his full, professional name with his family and friends, and admitted to Vanity Fair in a Nov. 18 interview, “That’s not how I understand myself.”

Indeed, Jeremy is just Jeremy White to those closest to him.

As he admitted of his full name, “It does feel like people are talking about someone I don’t know.”

Similarly to other actors like Emma Stone, the 34-year-old was somewhat forced into the moniker due to the Screen Actors Guild regulations that only one person can register with any given name, and his was already taken.

“I’d be very interested [to meet him],” the Shameless alum admitted of the actor who claimed his name. “I could talk to him and maybe see if he could allow me to have Jeremy White back.”

Meanwhile, Emma, whose real name is Emily Stone, isn’t as pressed about reclaiming her title. After all, she previously admitted it was something she really, really wanted due to Emma Bunton of the Spice Girls.
