Donald Trump Says He Has Signed The Bill To Release The Jeffrey Epstein Files

Donald Trump said that he has signed legislation to compel the Justice Department to release investigative files into Jeffrey Epstein.

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote that “I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES! As everyone knows, I asked Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, to pass this Bill in the House and Senate, respectively. Because of this request, the votes were almost unanimous in favor of passage. At my direction, the Department of Justice has already turned over close to fifty thousand pages of documents to Congress.”

His announcement comes a day after Congress, in a nearly unanimous vote, passed legislation to release the files.

Trump initially opposed such a release, but reversed himself on Sunday, when it became clear that House Republicans would help Democrats pass the legislation.

On Friday, Trump called on the DOJ to investigate Bill Clinton and other Democrats who were named in a trove of emails released last week by the House Oversight Committee. Attorney General Pam Bondi quickly assigned a prosecutor to the case.

Trump himself was mentioned in the email release more than 1,000 times.

There’s concern among lawmakers who championed the files release that Bondi will still withhold materials, using the investigation of the Democrats as an excuse to withold the documents.

Trump wrote on Truth Social, “This latest Hoax will backfire on the Democrats just as all of the rest have!”
