How to watch ‘The Beatles Anthology’ streaming on Disney+
It’s almost Thanksgiving, which means it’s almost time for Disney+ to release a new round of Beatles content for family members of all generations to bound over. This year, that content is a shiny, newly-restored version of The Beatles Anthology TV series, the famed eight-part documentary series about the fab four, which originally aired as three feature-length segments on ABC in 1995.
The original series was put together by co-directors Bob Smeaton and Geoff Wonfor, who went through hours of archival video and audio recordings kept by the band’s longtime friend and manager Neil Aspinall. Featuring extensive new interviews with the three living Beatles at the time—Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr—the series was intended to be the definitive Beatles doc. It was released alongside a four-volume set of double albums featuring archival interviews and alternate takes of the band’s famous tunes.
Now, thanks Peter Jackson’s Park Road Post studio in Wellington, New Zealand, The Beatles Anthology has been restored in high definition. This new version also features a new, ninth-episode of McCartnery, Harrison, and Starr meeting up in the ’90s and working on their new tunes, “Free As Bird,” “Real Love,” and “Now and Then.” (That said, if you had the Anthology DVD, you’ve probably seen a lot of this footage already in the special features.)
Beatles fans won’t want to miss it, so read on to find out how to watch The Beatles Anthology streaming on Disney+, including The Beatles Anthology episode release schedule on Disney+.
