Chiefs’ playoff hopes in jeopardy after Thanksgiving loss to surging Dak Prescott, Cowboys
If the Chiefs had any margin for error remaining with their playoff hopes, it might’ve evaporated Thursday night.
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City — who’ve won two of the last three Super Bowls and appeared in all three — fell to the Cowboys, 31-28, in a Thanksgiving Day loss that dropped their record to 6-6 and made their path back to the postseason even more complicated with five games remaining.
Mahomes threw for 261 yards and four touchdowns, but Dak Prescott — who tossed 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception — helped Dallas take the lead for good with 11:15 remaining after a touchdown pass to Javonte Williams, while Brandon Aubrey added a 26-yard field goal later in the frame to complete the Cowboys’ scoring.

Kansas City has lost three of its last four games heading into a Sunday night game against the Texans on Dec. 7.
