Caitlin Hughes & Pat King Launch PR Label Sound & Vision

EXCLUSIVE: Veteran indie film publicist Caitlin Hughes has joined forces with longtime collaborator Pat King to launch U.S. PR firm Sound & Vision.

Hughes has been working under the Caitlin Hughes PR moniker since 2017 and had brought King into the fold in 2022. They plan to expand the new label in coming years.

Sound & Vision will continue to rep the indie film scene but will also look to branch into music and live performance. King will head up music PR efforts, having worked for years as an entertainment journalist, formerly as the features editor at Metro New York and Metro Boston.

Caitlin Hughes PR clients have included Drafthouse Films, Oscilloscope, Utopia, FilmRise, Yellow Veil Pictures, digital distributor Narrative, Nitehawk Cinemas, Alamo Drafthouse Downtown Brooklyn, BAMcinemaFest, Indie Memphis and American Documentary’s longrunning docuseries POV, airing on PBS.

“If press doesn’t move the needle for a given project, it’s not worth our time or the artist’s time,” said Hughes, a former Brigade Marketing and Vimeo publicist. “It’s very rewarding to actually put in the work and the research and craft these specialized plans that get even the smallest, weirdest project noticed by the right people. And since Pat started working with me, he’s ignited a renewed curiosity and wonderment in this work.”
