Mike Kafka’s Herculean Giants task may have majorly derailed his head coaching dreams

Mike Kafka was considered an up-and-coming offensive coordinator and a strong candidate at some point to get hired somewhere as an NFL head coach. That was before the events of the past month.

It can be stated with certainty that Kafka as the interim head coach has not provided an elixir to what ails a sick team, but he has not ruined the Giants. On the flip side, are the Giants ruining Kafka?

Short answer: They sure haven’t helped him at all.

He inherited a mess of a team. The Giants were 2-8, on a four-game losing streak, capable of building leads going into the fourth quarter and even more capable of blowing those leads when Brian Daboll was fired.
