Former WWE champion may never wrestle again
There is growing concern within WWE regarding the in-ring future of Piper Niven, with new reports suggesting that a neck injury she sustained earlier this year could force her into premature retirement. The Scottish powerhouse has been out of action since the August 22, 2025, episode of “Friday Night SmackDown,” which was taped at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
During that broadcast, Niven competed in a hard-hitting match against Charlotte Flair. While she emerged victorious in the bout, the victory came at a severe cost. Reports indicate that Niven suffered a serious injury stemming from cumulative wear and tear, which was exacerbated by a specific bump taken during the contest. She has not wrestled since.
Speaking on “Wrestling Observer Live,” Bryan Alvarez provided a somber update on Niven’s condition. According to Alvarez, internal conversations within WWE have shifted from a hopeful return to the possibility that her career may be over.

However, as of late December 2025, Niven remains listed as out indefinitely with no timeline for a potential return.
