Democrat says he was punched in the face during ‘racist’ attack

Representative Maxwell Alejandro Frost said he was assaulted at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah on Saturday night by a man who made racist remarks and told him he would be deported by President Donald Trump before punching him in the face.

Frost, who made history in 2023 when he became the first Afro-Cuban and first member of Gen Z elected to Congress, said in a post on X that the suspect “drunkenly” fled the scene while “screaming racist remarks” but was later arrested. Frost thanked venue security and the Park City Police Department for their response, adding that he was “okay” following the incident.

This is a developing story. More to follow.
