Rangers hope Matt Rempe’s injury absence will be quick as Peter Laviolette lauds his development

ANAHEIM — The season — all right, the regular season — ends in just under three weeks on April 17 at the Garden in Game 82 against the Lightning.

The Rangers are hopeful that Matt Rempe, shut down with an upper body issue and designated as, “week to week” by the club, will be back sooner than then.

“I really like the way Matt developed this year,” head coach Peter Laviolette told The Post following his team’s practice in advance of meeting the Ducks on Friday. “His hands, his game, I think he has taken steps in the right direction.

“He’s always been able to hit, he’s always been able to fight, but his game just practicing at this level and playing games, he’s kind of solidified his spot.”
