Trump attacks Supreme Court picks ahead of birthright citizenship ruling
President Donald Trump has spoken out against the Supreme Court, predicting it will rule against him on birthright citizenship and slamming justices he appointed for their previous ruling against tariffs.
“A negative ruling on Birthright Citizenship, on top of the recent Supreme Court Tariff catastrophe, is not Economically sustainable for the United States of America!” Trump said in a lengthy post on Truth Social.
The Supreme Court heard the case Trump v. Barbara on April 1 and is still set to reveal its decision on Trump’s executive order declaring that children born to parents who are in the United States illegally or temporarily are not American citizens.
But Trump said it will decide against him, citing how it struck down his imposition of tariffs under emergency laws.
Trump singled out Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, both of whom he appointed, saying: “They were appointed by me, and yet have hurt our Country so badly.”
This is a developing story and will be updated.
