Joy Behar Taking Time Off ‘The View’ With Sheryl Underwood & Kara Swisher Set To Guest Co-Host
Joy Behar will take a little time to enjoy a different kind of view as she takes some time off from The View.
The comedian opened up about traveling and working in Europe on the latest episode of the Behind the Table podcast.
The View producer Brian Teta noted that Behar’s appearance on the May 26 podcast would be her “last podcast for a little bit” because she would not be there next week.
“I fly to Paris this week, and then I go to take the shuttle to London after a week, and I’ll be in London the second week doing my play My First Ex-Husband, at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End,” Behar said. “We have Jackie Hoffman and I, the two American women talking, then we have two British actresses. Doesn’t that sound like fun?”
Behar will continue to appear on the ABC daytime talk show until Thursday, May 28. However, the long-time co-host will continue to appear on The Weekend View as they made her “bank the weekend shows.”
“You need to chyron, ‘Joy is gone, but this is on tape,’” Behar suggested to Teta, who added, “We will make sure that people understand that … I mean, they know we’re not really there at 9 o’clock in the morning on a Saturday.”
While Behar is away, moderator Whoopi Goldberg will fill in for the Friday shows, which are days she usually doesn’t appear.
In addition, Teta said that former The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood would return to The View to fill in for Behar for two days. Teta also said that Kara Swisher would also join the Hot Topics panel with Ana Navarro, also filling other days in addition to the Monday and Friday shows, which are days she typically appears on.
