The reminder Jaxson Dart and the Giants got about politics mixing with sports
This one is for the “politics don’t belong in sports” crowd.
The Jaxson Dart-Abdul Carter rift over Dart’s introduction of President Donald Trump at Rockland Community College in Suffern last week is a prime example of why politics will always be inevitable in sports.
The Giants quarterback’s participation in the event, where Trump voiced his support for New York Republicans ahead of primary elections, was a political statement in itself.
“What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here,” Dart said to the crowd after starting a ‘Go Big Blue!’ chant. “Without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”
