Jon Tenney Joins FX’s ‘Cry Wolf’ Limited Series

EXCLUSIVE: Jon Tenney (American Classic, The Closer) has been cast opposite Olivia Colman and Brie Larson in Cry Wolf, FX‘s upcoming limited series created by Sarah Treem.

The project, inspired by the Danish series Ulven Kommer (Cry Wolf) by Maja Jul Larsen, is a psychological family thriller following a social worker, Kath (Colman), and a mother, April (Larson), thrust into crisis when the mother’s teenage daughter, Mia (Alyvia Alyn Lind), alleges abuse, pushing both women to their limits as they navigate an impossible situation.

Tenney will portray Ian Farr, polished, handsome, slick and smart as a whip. He’s ruthless and one step ahead of everyone else, able to control an entire courtroom and destroy the opposing council with ease. A former criminal defense attorney, he now sees himself as a champion for fathers after his own bitter divorce, which made him a “found man” with a whole new belief system. He masterfully controls the courtroom in the show’s climactic trial.

Cast also includes Shawn Hatosy, Jack Greig, William Jackson Harper, Dane DeHaan, Atticus Mitchell, Ayo Solanke, and Elizabeth Perkins.

Treem, Colman, Larson, South of the River’s Ed Sinclair and Bernstein executive produce alongside Alena Smith, Maja Jul Larsen, Christian Rank and Claudia Saganario on behalf of DR Sales, the format arm of DR that the original Danish series was produced for.

Tenney currently stars and is an executive producer alongside Kevin Kline and Laura Linney on MGM+’s critically acclaimed new comedy, American Classic, which has 94% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. He is repped by Gersh and Link Entertainment.
