Theresa Kang’s Blue Marble Pictures Inks TV Deal With Fifth Season

EXCLUSIVE: Fifth Season has entered a multi-year first-look television deal with producer Theresa Kang’s Blue Marble Pictures (Pachinko). The TV slate under the deal will be overseen by Blue Marble SVP Caroline Garity.

Kang is moving to indie film and TV studio Fifth Season from Apple TV. She launched Blue Marble Pictured in 2020 with a five-year overall deal at Apple where the company produced Pachinko and the upcoming series Disavowed starring James Marsden.

Prior to that, Kang was an agent and partner at WME, as was Fifth Season CEO Graham Taylor before Fifth Season was launched as Endeavor Content in 2017.

As a lit agent, Kang was key in putting together several of Endeavor Content’s first batch of shows, The Night Manager, which put the company on the map, The Little Drummer Girl, and Tokyo Vice.

“Blue Marble is one of the most versatile production companies in the business – the breadth and caliber of artists they have brought together speaks for itself,” Taylor said. “They have a reputation for nurturing artists and projects and for taking a collaborative approach to ensuring project success. At Fifth Season, we’ve always believed that the best stories come from the best creative collaborations, and Blue Marble embodies that through their slate of adaptations and original ideas. We couldn’t be more excited to build together.”

Fifth Season’s upcoming TV series include East of Eden, starring Florence Pugh, for Netflix; The Good Daughter, starring Meghann Fahy and Rose Byrne, for Peacock; and Southern Bastards, starring Kevin Bacon, for Hulu. The studio is coming off the success of limited series His & Hers, which landed on Netflix’s Top 10 list of most popular series (English).

“Our creative philosophy is simple: the most specific stories are often the most universal, Kang said. “We’ve long admired Fifth Season for sharing in the belief that premium, globally minded storytelling belongs everywhere. Collectively, we share a track record of supporting artists and protecting their creative vision in television.”

At Apple, Blue Marble Pictures also has in the works an adaptation of Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere Universe, including a film adaptation of Mistborn and a television adaptation of The Stormlight Archive. In film, Blue Marble was part of the producing team behind the Bedford Park, which premiered in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival and won the Best Debut Filmmaker Award.

In addition to overseeing development across TV and film at Blue Marble Pictures, Garity served as co-executive producer on Pachinko and executive produces Disavowed alongside Kang. Prior to joining the company, Garity was part of the creative team at the launch of Disney+, overseeing such series as The Mandalorian. Previously, she was a television producer at Chernin Entertainment and began her career at WME alongside Kang. Blue Marble’s Director of Development Elle Lütz rounds out the television producing team. She is an alumna of Fifth Season and WME.
