TIFF: The Market Sets 150+ Companies For Inaugural Edition

The inaugural edition of TIFF: The Market, the Toronto Film Festival’s official industry market, has confirmed the participation of over 150 international sales, promotion, and distribution companies.

Goodfellas, AGC Studios, CAA, XYZ Films, WME, FilmNation, and UTA are all confirmed for the market. They will join international companies such as Playtime, CJ Entertainment, Global Constellation, Finecut, and SND in the market.

TIFF Market organizers have said they also expect longtime Toronto participants such as Lionsgate, Black Bear, Neon, Gaumont, Pathé Films, Embankment Films, and A24 to return.

International film guilds are also expected to have a strong presence, with already confirmed participants such as Telefilm Canada, Screen Australia, Korean Film Council (KOFIC), Unifrance, ICEX, European Film Promotion (EFP), Unijapan, Indigenous Cinema Alliance, BFI, Screen Ireland, AFCI, and TAICCA.

You can see a full list of companies set to participate below.

TIFF’s new market will run from September 10 through 16. The new event will take in TV, interactive and digital content, as well as film. It has considerable backing from Canada’s Federal Government in the shape of C$23M ($16.5M) of funding.

Warner Bros.’ Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca will be among the headline speakers at the market.

In a statement this afternoon, Charles Tremblay, Head of TIFF: The Market, said: “We designed the Market to meet the needs of a global sales community seeking more buyer engagement through access to premium screening facilities, cost-effective exhibition solutions, and a compact footprint that reduces travel time and maximizes opportunities for face-to-face meetings.”
