Underwhelming Liberty superteam missing a championship-caliber element

SAN FRANCISCO — Breanna Stewart knows it takes time to build a good thing.

She’s been in this business for 10 years now. There are always going to be peaks and valleys over the course of a 44-game season.

A month ago, during a particularly rough stretch, Stewart said she was happy that the Liberty’s struggles were happening early.

She knew there would be growing pains given the new coaching staff and new system.
