Off Campus’ Ella Bright Reacts to Fans “Shipping” Her and Belmont Cameli

Ella Bright is shipping this bout of wishful thinking off to the penalty box. 

After all, the Off Campus actress shared her thoughts on some fans wanting her and costar Belmont Cameli to date, just like their onscreen characters theatre major Hannah Wells and hockey star Garrett Graham. 

“It’s very funny,” Bright, 19, said on the July 3 episode of the In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele podcast. “The press tour, I thought people were like, ‘Oh, I love that they’re just promoting this as friends.’ ‘Cause that’s what it was, of course.” 

However, she understands why viewers might make assumptions about her friendship with Cameli, 28—who is in a relationship with TV writer Raina Morris—since Hannah and Garrett’s game-winning romance takes center ice in season one of the Prime Video series.

“I totally get it,” the Crown alum explained. “But it is so weird. I’m like, ‘No. That’s literally my brother.’ Also, he has a perfect, beautiful, amazing girlfriend who is my angel on earth.”

She concluded, “I love him so much, but yeah, it’s very funny.”
