Fenerbahce Agree Personal Terms With Ollie Watkins As Aston Villa Talks Continue
Fenerbahce have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins, although negotiations between the two clubs over a transfer fee remain ongoing.
The England international has agreed in principle to a three-year contract worth approximately €9 million per season. However, the proposed move has not been finalized, with Aston Villa yet to agree to Fenerbahce’s valuation of the 30-year-old forward.
Villa are understood to value Watkins at around €35 million (£30 million), while Fenerbahce are attempting to complete the deal for closer to €25 million. The gap in valuation means discussions between the clubs are expected to continue after Watkins completes his international commitments with England at the FIFA World Cup.
Indicate that Watkins and his representatives are prioritizing the World Cup before making any final decisions regarding his club future. No formal negotiations are expected to progress until England’s tournament campaign concludes.
Watkins remains one of Aston Villa’s most important attacking players after another productive season under Unai Emery. He scored 21 goals and registered five assists in 55 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-26 campaign, helping Villa qualify for European competition once again.
Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, are seeking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Super Lig season and have identified Watkins as one of their primary transfer targets. The Turkish giants are aiming to challenge rivals Galatasaray domestically while competing in Europe.
Despite reports that personal terms have been agreed, neither Aston Villa nor Fenerbahce has confirmed the existence of a deal. Watkins also remains under contract at Villa Park, leaving the Premier League club in a strong negotiating position should they decide to sanction a sale.
The transfer therefore remains at the negotiation stage, with an agreement between the clubs still required before any move can be completed.
