Harrowing details of hiker’s alligator attack death revealed in DNA test results: report

The alligator that fatally mauled hiker Brittany Clark in Florida has been identified through DNA testing, according to a report.

Clark, 31, died after her arms were ripped to pieces during a visit with her boyfriend and roommate to Little Big Econ State Forest in Central Florida on June 28.

Following the attack, trappers killed two large gators — one roughly 12-foot and the other 13-foot — they had found in the Econlockhatchee River.

Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said DNA collected from the larger, 13-foot alligator confirmed it was responsible for the deadly attack, WCJB reported.

The DNA was reportedly tested at a lab in Gainesville and the medical examiner was also said to have confirmed bite marks on Clark’s body matched one of the two gators.

FWC officials reportedly said the investigation remains active and additional information will be made available after the investigation concludes.
