Austin Humane Society helps rescue 30+ dogs, including 19 doodles, from 1 home

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Humane Society (AHS) said it helped rescue more than 30 dogs Tuesday, including 19 doodles, from a single property in Bastrop County.

AHS said the dogs, which were between 3 months and 5 years old, were living outside “as part of a breeding operation of ‘doodle’ type dogs,” and were “suffering from flea infestations, fur matting, and … heartworms.”

For those interested in adopting, the fees range from $85 to $200. Donations to support their care are also accepted.

AHS said the dogs will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites and receive age-appropriate vaccinations before heading into their new homes.
