Why the Mets’ biggest challenge is keeping your attention

Over the weekend, Citi Field sounded like Chavez Ravine.

There were “Let’s go Dodgers!” chants throughout the series loss to the two-time defending World Series champions.

On the bright side, at least there were people in the ballpark. That’s likely not going to be the case for much the rest of this dismal season.

There was an announced attendance of 29,466 for Monday night’s rivalry game against the Braves, though a press-box observer guessed there were less than half that many on hand for the soggy later innings of a 14-3 win courtesy of Francisco Lindor’s pop and Zac Thornton’s quality start.
