Rosie O’Donnell Teases Trump Song On ‘Kimmel’, Isn’t Worried About FCC

As Trump’s FCC continues its war on ABC, Rosie O’Donnell isn’t worried about being censored during her upcoming summer guest host stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

The 12x Emmy winner, who’s had a longstanding public feud with the POTUS, recently expressed no fear in the face of Brendan Carr and the FCC as she prepares to host the ABC late-night show the week of Aug. 17, telling Trump, “I know you’re watching” as she teased a “love song” she plans to perform for him.

“What are they gonna say, that you can’t say that?” O’Donnell asked of the FCC on the On with Kara Swisher podcast. “I don’t listen to them. I don’t pay any heed to them.”

As Swisher noted, Carr has wielded the FCC’s power against ABC in what the network has called an “ongoing retaliation campaign” over their coverage of Trump, in addition to going after O’Donnell’s alma mater The View. Meanwhile, ABC suspended Kimmel’s talk show shortly after Carr issued the network a warning.

O’Donnell also teased a song she wants to perform, adding, “I wanna sing a song the first night, ‘hello, Donny / I know you’re watching, Donny / it’s me, Rosie, showing up on ABC.’ I wanna do a little love song, like, ‘you’ve got a crush, Donny / it’s too much / I hear you’re leaving Melania for me.’ 

“That’s what I wanna do … he’s totally wanting of me. ‘You want to grab me, Donny. I want to stab the, Donny.’ I don’t know, I have to make it up as I go,” she said.

In June, Kimmel announced O’Donnell as one of his talk show’s summer guest hosts, along with a lineup including Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo, Jelly Roll and Matt Damon.
