Perez Hilton’s Family “Immediately Fled” the Home Amid His “Severe” Mental Health Crisis
Perez Hilton’s family is sharing more details on his health emergency.
Days after the gossip blogger (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.) appeared in a TikTok livestream engaging in violent acts of self-harm and was later hospitalized, his family shared a statement on the event that transpired.
“Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home,” his family said in an Aug. 6 statement. “When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”
In addition to the dad of three’s own recovery, his family emphasized their priority “is helping the children begin to heal from what they experienced.”
“An important part of that process is allowing them to safely return home,” the statement continued, “and begin rebuilding a sense of security and normalcy.”
To do so, the Lavandeira family respectfully requested all members of the media, paparazzi and other individual content creators to leave the premises of media personality’s Miami home, adding in bold font, “Please allow his children the privacy and space they need during this unimaginably difficult time.”
