How Is Joe Biden? Former President’s Prostrate Cancer Is Spreading Fast and Is ‘Very Painful,’ Hunter Biden Reveals

Hunter Biden has revealed that his father’s prostate cancer has spread and that the former president is experiencing significant pain. “The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” he told the BBC about former President Joe Biden on Friday. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”

Biden, 83, revealed last May that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. Despite that, he has continued to make public appearances, including attending Maryland Democrats’ “Fight Back and Win” gala near Baltimore in late June. Earlier that month, he attended the opening of the new Obama library in Chicago despite his weakening health, which was noticeable.

Health Deteriorating Fast

He drew attention afterward when he walked up to a lectern and asked, “Where’s my granddaughter?” Biden’s disastrous 2024 debate performance, which ultimately forced him off the Democratic ticket, continues to have repercussions within his party, with several longtime officials being unseated by political newcomers.

Hunter Biden, 56, said his father is still “out there” from time to time. “He’s still doing his thing,” he said. “He so believes in this country.”

“It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter Biden said of his father. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”

The elder Biden is still working on his memoir, “Promise Me, America,” which is expected to be released after the midterm elections.

Hunter Biden has also become more active in public in recent months, regularly posting on X and occasionally defending his father’s political legacy.

Still Active

Former first lady Jill Biden told interviewer Kelly Ripa last week that she noticed a possible health concern while her husband was in the White House, when he would get up to urinate as many as “seven times a night.”

Jill said she raised the issue with White House physicians at the time and “thought it was addressed.”

But after Biden left the White House in January 2025 and the problem continued, she said she encouraged him to seek further medical care.

“But when it continued when we got out of the White House, I said, ‘Joe, we’ve got to go up to Jeff in Philly – something’s wrong’,” she told Ripa on “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” on Sirius XM.

Biden announced in May 2025 that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer after experiencing urinary symptoms. Doctors had also found a “nodule” on his prostate.

Last October, his office said he was receiving radiation therapy and hormone treatment for the disease.
