Police peel back curtain on alleged sex parlors busted in sprawling SoCal sting
Police busted a series of massage parlors over suspected illegal sexual activity following a sting operation in the San Gabriel Valley.
Officers from the Covina Police Department took down seven businesses and made seven arrests for unlawful sexual behavior, sharing a post of suspects in handcuffs and a look inside the parlors.
As part of the undercover operation, a “decoy” was sent into each of the parlors, Lt. Ray Marquez of the Covina Police Department told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Once an employee allegedly agreed to perform sexual acts for money, the cops came in and arrested the suspect.
Police said the sting was set up after they got a tip about possible illegal sexual acts being performed on a family member who was getting massages in the city.
Marquez said these places weren’t named business, with their customers getting information about the alleged illegal services via word-of-mouth.
“These cases remain under investigation as our department continues working to address illegal activity and ensure businesses operating within our city are in compliance with the law,” police said.
“The Covina Police Department and our city partners remain committed to maintaining a safe community for our residents, businesses, and visitors!”
