Traffic Alert: 1 dead after pedestrian struck on I-35

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin-Travis County EMS said one person was dead after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Interstate 35 at approximately 1:25 a.m. Saturday.
ATCEMS said medics performed CPR on the adult patient, but the patient died at the scene.
According to ATCEMS, the incident occurred near the 1100 block of North I-35 heading south, which is near 12th Street in downtown Austin.
Traffic has been diverted to the frontage road at exit 234C, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
Extended road closures and traffic delays are expected in the area, and officials advised using alternate routes.
