What Will be Karoline Leavitt’s Next Move? White House Press Secretary Will Continue to Support Trump as Her New Job Is Finalized

Karoline Leavitt will continue to support President Donald Trump after stepping down from her role as the White House press secretary. During her final flight aboard Air Force One as White House press secretary, Leavitt told reporters she plans to return to MAGA Inc. after leaving her position.

Leavitt made the comments while traveling to Trump’s rally in South Carolina on Friday. She previously worked for Trump’s super PAC before becoming his national press secretary and later taking on the White House role. Leavitt said that she plans to rejoin MAGA Inc. in September for the Republican midterm convention after taking some time with her family, according to USA Today.

Always with Trump

Leavitt’s plans for her next role come more than a week after Trump announced on Truth Social on Aug. 12 that she would be “departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family.”

While Trump did not provide details about her next position, he said in the announcement that “Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”

Leavitt had also previously said on X that Trump had “asked me to continue serving as a top advisor to him on the outside.”

She returned from maternity leave in mid-July after temporarily stepping away from her White House role in April.

Everyone’s Favorite

Leavitt was a everyone’s favorite. Journalists and administration officials largely viewed Leavitt as a perfect spokesperson for Trump, confidently defending his policies with a sharp and assured delivery.

She also regularly shared news and updates from the briefing room, offering a noticeable change from the approach of her predecessor during the Biden administration.

The New Hampshire native appeared so comfortable in the position that many expected her to remain through Trump’s second term.

Leavitt’s planned departure at the end of August has therefore fueled speculation over who will take over as the US government’s top spokesperson.

Although Trump hasn’t decided who will replace her, the New York Post reported that sources inside and close to the administration said that early contenders to replace Leavitt are believed to include Alina Habba, the former acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey, and Matthew Boyle, Breitbart’s Washington bureau chief.
