Fortnite Sonic Power Hours Today: Start Times, Schedule and How to Join
Fortnite players have two chances to take part in Sonic Power Hours today, Aug 29, as Epic Games increases the appearance rate of Sonic-themed Sprites and introduces the new Storm Scout Sprite in Chapter 7 Season 4.
The limited-time Power Hours will take place in two separate two-hour sessions, giving players a total of four hours to hunt for special Sprites and boosted Chest rewards. Epic Games confirmed that the first session runs from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. ET, followed by a second session from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
Fortnite Sonic Power Hours Start Time Today
The first Sonic Power Hour begins at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 29, and runs until 4 p.m. ET.
The second session starts at 9 p.m. ET and ends at 11 p.m. ET. For players outside the US, the second session falls on August 30 in several regions.

What Happens During Fortnite Sonic Power Hours?
During both sessions, Sonic, Tails and Shadow Sprites will appear more frequently across the Fortnite Island. The increased spawn rates give players a better chance of encountering the Sonic-themed characters and their variants.
Players will also have an increased chance of finding Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers inside Chests.
Other rare Chest finds during the Power Hours include:
- 1-Up Tokens
- Portable Extractors
- Increased chances of Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers
- More frequent Sonic, Tails and Shadow Sprites
Epic says the bonuses are active during both scheduled Power Hour periods.
New Storm Scout Sprite Debuts Today
The biggest addition during today’s event is the Storm Scout Sprite.
Three versions are being introduced:
- Storm Scout Sprite
- Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite
- Gold Storm Scout Sprite
The Storm Scout Sprite gives players an Overdrive and unlimited Energy effect after taking enough Storm damage. Higher-level versions increase the duration of the effect, while the highest level can reveal future Storm Circles.
The Sprite officially debuts when the first Sonic Power Hour begins at 2 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. UTC.
How to Join Fortnite Sonic Power Hours
Players do not need to enter a separate event mode to participate.
To take part:
- Launch Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4.
- Enter a standard Fortnite match.
- Play during either of the two scheduled Sonic Power Hour windows.
- Explore the Island for the increased Sonic, Tails and Shadow Sprite spawns.
- Open Chests to look for Mythic Sonic Power Sneakers, 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors.
- Search for the new Storm Scout Sprite and its variants.
Players can participate in either session. However, joining both gives players more opportunities to find the rarer Sprite variants and boosted Chest rewards.
When Is the Next Fortnite Sonic Power Hour?
The second Sonic Power Hour begins at 9 p.m. ET on Aug. 29 and runs until 11 p.m. ET.
In the UK and several Asia-Pacific locations, that second session takes place on August 30 because of the time difference.
Players who miss the first session therefore still have another opportunity later in the day.

The Sonic Power Hours are part of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, which features the ongoing Sonic collaboration and Sprite-based gameplay.
Today’s event adds another limited-time opportunity for players to collect Sonic-related items while also introducing the Storm Scout Sprite and its variants.
With two separate sessions and boosted spawn and Chest rates, players have four total hours on August 29–30 to take advantage of the Sonic Power Hour bonuses.
