Exclusive | Jalen Brunson gets candid with The Post about Mitchell Robinson’s ‘bittersweet’ Knicks exit for Celtics



Jalen Brunson understands the fans who want him to despise the opposition. Especially the opposition in Boston.

But he’s not losing love for Mitchell Robinson, whom Brunson characterized as “very tough” to lose.

“Obviously playing for a rival and I know people want every team to hate each other. But there are some people you really care for and that’s my guy,” Brunson told The Post. “I’m happy for him. And now, whenever we play him — four times a year — he’s not my friend that day.”

By signing with the Celtics in free agency, Robinson became the lone departure from the Knicks championship rotation. And it was mostly about money.
