Lindsay Clancy Jurors Wear Pink Sparking Speculation that a Verdict Is Reached as Deliberations Enter Third Day: Is She Guilty?

Speculation is mounting that a verdict in the Lindsay Clancy trial could be close, with courtroom observers noting a change in how some jurors were dressed. The 12-member jury, made up of three men and nine women, began deliberating on Thursday afternoon. So far, they have asked only one question about the case.

On Monday, reporters covering the trial noticed that the jurors appeared to be dressed more formally than before, prompting speculation that they could be preparing to return a verdict. However, there was no indication that a decision had actually been reached. Several online commentators have also drawn attention to the fact that two jurors were wearing pink.

In fact, Clancy’s supporters have also been wearing pink throughout the trial. The jurors’ change in appearance has fueled speculation online that they could be preparing to deliver a verdict.

“Are we getting a verdict later today in the Lindsay Clancy trial?” one person asked on X.

Another wrote: “Always interesting when the jury collectively changes their normal attire. Saying a prayer for them today.”

“Female jurors are wearing pink in the Lindsay Clancy case. Seems a bit inappropriate even if it is not them signaling,” another X user wrote.

Social media users also pointed to two female jurors who they claimed were wearing pink in court.

Pink has become closely associated with Clancy’s supporters, many of whom have gathered outside the courthouse wearing the color as a show of solidarity.

Clancy is accused of killing her three children — five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan — at the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023.

Prosecutors say she used exercise bands in the killings. Clancy has acknowledged that she killed the children but has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Jury Still Undecided

The jury entered its third day of deliberations following a five-week trial. Defense attorney Kevin Reddington told the Daily Mail that jurors asked on Friday to examine the two bags containing pill bottles and the knife police recovered from the home on the night of the deaths.

Clancy’s defense has argued that she was suffering from postpartum depression and psychosis triggered by excessive medication. Prosecutors, however, have argued that she understood what she was doing and remained in control of her actions.

The jury is not sequestered and must determine whether Clancy is guilty of first-degree murder, second-degree murder or manslaughter, or whether she should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.

The judge has ordered jurors not to discuss the case or seek out information about it.
