‘All That’s Christy Knowings Cause Of Death Confirmed
A cause of death has been confirmed for All That actor Christy Knowings.
Knowings died from cardiac arrest, according to the death certificate obtained by People. Acute hypoxic respiratory failure and status asthmaticus were listed as conditions leading to her death, with asthma listed as the underlying cause.
Knowings died August 11 after being removed from life support at a Los Angeles-area hospital, TMZ reported. She was 46.
At the time of her death, TMZ, citing family sources, reported that Knowings was placed on life support after suffering an asthma attack that resulted in cardiac arrest on August 7. Her family made the decision to take her off life support four days later.
Knowings first appeared on 1997’s And Now This, a sketch comedy show from Rosie O’Donnell, produced by Nickelodeon. She went on to join Nickelodeon’s All That, appearing on all three seasons, alongside fellow cast members including Kel Mitchell, Kenan Thompson, Danny Tamberelli, Nick Cannon, Amanda Bynes and others. Her characters on All That included assistant to Bynes’ dentist, Jessica from the recurring “Whateverrr!!!” skits and newscaster Brenda Stone.
Following All That, she appeared in several episodes of Sesame Street from 2008-11 alongside her twin brother Chris Knowings, who was a more frequent actor on the series and had appeared in Spike Lee’s 1994 film Crooklyn.
