Family’s difficult decision amid ICE custody, Texas immigration reality 

Our team has been following the case of 5-year-old Liam Tadeo, who was taken into ICE custody alongside his father in Austin in August. Immigration attorney Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch said that Liam’s mother, an undocumented immigrant, cannot secure his release despite DHS claims that children can be placed with designated caregivers.
