Richard Osman Teases ‘We Solve Murders’ Series In Works At Netflix

One year after The Thursday Murder Club got the Netflix treatment, Richard Osman is teasing his next collaboration with the streamer.

The British TV presenter and novelist recently gave an update on the adaptation of his 2024 book We Solve Murders when asked whether a series would still be happening at Netflix.

“Well, I can’t say. But yes,” said Osman on BBC’s The One Show. “Certainly that’s what we’re up to at the moment with our friends at Netflix. That’ll be very exciting.”

Before the book was published in September 2024, Osman revealed earlier that year that Netflix had snatched up the rights to the mystery.

“Netflix have bought the rights to We Solve Murders, which is great. So it could be a busy few years,” he said on ITV’s This Morning in February 2024. “Unless everyone reads We Solve Murders and says, ‘This is not for us,’ in which case they’ll go quiet.”

In We Solve Murders, Amy Wheeler is an adrenaline-seeker working in private security, hired to protect bestselling author Rosie D’Antonio on a remote island, where a dead body and a bag of money turn up. To solve the murder, she sends an SOS to her retired detective father-in-law Steve Wheeler, teaming up to catch the killer.

Osman’s update on the series adaptation comes as he prepares to release the sequel We Chase Shadows on Sept. 15.
