‘Treasure Island’: First Look At MGM+ & Paramount+ Pirate Series

EXCLUSIVE: Shiver me timbers! Here’s a first look at Paramount+‘s upcoming pirate drama Treasure Island.

Above and below you can see seven images from the Playground Entertainment’s six-part adventure series starring Hayley Atwell (Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning) as Bess Hawkins, David Oyelowo (Silo) as Long John Silver, Tom Sweet (Great Expectations) as Jim Hawkins, Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) as Aaron Graham and Tomer Capone (The Boys) as Billy Bones.

The series will premiere on MGM+ in the U.S. on October 11 and on Paramount+ in the UK and Ireland the following day, with new episodes dropping weekly through November 15 and 16, respectively.

The series reimagines Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic story, and follows a young Jim Hawkins and his fiercely determined mother Beth, who come into possession of Captain Flint’s legendary treasure map and are swept into a brutal race for unimaginable riches.

The show also stars Craige Els (Andor) as Mr Arrow, Tristan Sturrock (Poldark) as Captain Smollett and Neil Pendleton (Outlander) as Mr Cameron.

The show is a Paramount+ and MGM+ original series in association with Fifth Season, with Playground attached as the producer. Robert Murphy (Vera, Shetland) is the creator and Jeremy Lovering, William McGregor and Paul Walker are the directors, with Mark Hedges serving as producer.

Paramount+’s Sebastian Cardwell, the outgoing Deputy Chief Content Officer for the UK, and Paul Testar, Commissioning Editor for Paramount+ UK & Ireland, commissioned the show. Michael Wright, the global head of MGM+, and Alec Strum, original programming executive, oversee production for MGM+, while David Stern, Scott Huff and Colin Callender executive produce on behalf of Wolf Hall maker Playground, and Daniel Gratton, Murphy and Lovering also serve as executive producers.
