Fi Dog Supplement Salmonella Recall: Full List of Recalled Products, Lot Numbers and What Pet Owners Should Do

Vet Plus, Inc., a New York-based company that markets pet supplements under the Fi brand, is recalling two dog supplement products over possible Salmonella contamination linked to an ingredient supplied to its manufacturer.

The manufacturer has suspended production while it investigates, according to a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recall notice published Sept. 8, 2026.

The FDA said the products were sold directly to consumers and via online retailers Amazon and Chewy.com. Consumers who bought the impacted lots should discontinue use and follow the waste disposal instructions provided by the company.

Recalled Fi Dog Supplements and Lot Numbers

The FDA recall covers two specific Fi dog supplement products, which are Fi Calming Supplement for Dogs, 180 g, lot number 26118, with UPC 8 50064 80011 1; and Fi 8-in-1 Formula Supplement for Dogs, 180 g, lot number 26159, with UPC 8 50055 11168 4.

The FDA identified the products and lot numbers in its Sept. 8 recall notice.

Consumers who purchased any of the affected lots should discontinue use, make sure the container is tightly sealed and dispose of it in the trash.

In the company’s statement posted on the FDA’s website, Fi said it is “out of an abundance of caution” notifying all affected customers while the investigation continues.

Why the Fi Supplements Were Recalled

The recall was issued because the products have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella due to an ingredient supplied to Fi’s manufacturer. The FDA said the manufacturer has halted production while it investigates the possible contamination.

Salmonella may infect animals that eat products contaminated with it, the FDA said. Exposure can also occur when handling contaminated products, surfaces that have been touched by contaminated products or animal feces from infected animals.

Salmonella Symptoms in Dogs

Dogs with Salmonella infections may become lethargic and develop diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever and vomiting. The FDA states that some dogs will just have decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.

Infected dogs with no other health problems can also be carriers and spread the bacteria to other animals or humans.

Pet owners whose dogs consumed a recalled product and are showing symptoms should contact a veterinarian, the FDA advised.

Salmonella Risk to Humans

Humans may also get infected with Salmonella when handling contaminated products or through contact with infected animals or their feces. Healthy people who become infected with Salmonella can have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever, FDA said.

In rare cases, Salmonella infections can lead to additional complications, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation and urinary tract symptoms.

The FDA advises consumers who develop symptoms after contact with the recalled products to contact a health care provider.

Adverse events or quality problems involving animal products can also be reported to the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine through its animal adverse-event reporting process.

The FDA recall notice was published Sept. 8, 2026, after Fi announced the recall on Sept. 3. The investigation into the potential source of the contamination remains ongoing.
