Why The Pitt’s Katherine LaNasa Really Wanted to Delete Season One

Katherine LaNasa wishes she could scrub the first season of The Pitt.

As the HBO star attended the Emmy Awards 2026—hosted by Law & Order: SVU‘s Mariska Hargitay at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater Sept. 14—she shared that the surprising revelation about wanting to do her debut season over came after watching back her work, which ultimately earned her a win for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series in 2025.

“I just meant that I can’t see myself. I was so surprised that I got nominated the first season,” LaNasa exclusively told Justin Sylvester during Live from E!: 2026 Emmys, adding with a laugh, “If it was an audition tape, I would have been like, ‘Eh, it was okay.’ You know, I think I feel like that when I look at myself.”

As such, the actress added that whether or not she won for the second time in a row—an honor that ultimately went to Allison Janney for her work in The Diplomat—she was set to have an emotional night, attending alongside husband of over 14 years, Six Feet Under‘s Grant Show.
