Malia Nummerdor: Florida Woman Arrested After Husband Allegedly Caught Her Having Sex With Family Dog Claims She Was Framed

Friends of a Florida mom arrested after her ex accused her of having sex with their dog have started a fundraiser for her, claiming she was targeted by a spouse seeking revenge. Malia Nummerdor, 38, a mother of two boys, was arrested last week after her ex-husband, Erik Nummerdor, made the allegations on Facebook and claimed to have photos and video evidence, documents show.

Since her arrest, Malia and her sons have faced major upheaval, a fundraiser launched Monday claims. The campaign says their “lives have been turned upside down following a painful and difficult situation involving Malia’s estranged husband and allegations against her that she maintains are untrue.”

Friends Come Forward

According to the fundraiser, the family has been forced to leave their home, while Malia, who is from Punta Gorda, is dealing with mounting legal expenses. The campaign also says she was raised as an only child and has no surviving parents, leaving her dependent on close friends for support.

“Malia is facing serious allegations, and she needs experienced legal representation to ensure that she has the opportunity to fully address them through the proper legal process. This situation has also deeply affected her two young sons, who deserve privacy, stability, and as much normalcy as possible while the adults involved work through what comes next.”

The fundraiser also stresses that it is not intended to establish what happened in the case.

“This fundraiser is not asking anyone to decide the facts of the case. It is about helping a mother and her children get through an extraordinarily difficult period and making sure Malia has access to appropriate legal representation.”

Despite the appeal, the campaign had received limited financial support, with only two donations totaling less than $20 during its first day.

Malia was charged with sexual contact with an animal after Erik told police that he had placed two security cameras inside the home. According to an arrest report from the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, he said the cameras were installed after he became concerned about money disappearing from a coin jar.

Shock Discovery by Ex

Erik told investigators that everyone living in the house knew the cameras had been installed. While going through footage recorded by a camera in the bedroom, Erik allegedly found video showing Malia performing sex acts with the family dog, Ranger, according to police.

Erik handed over the recording to investigators and allowed them to access the laptop where the footage was stored. Police said the video “provided an independent source of corroboration beyond Erik’s statements.”

On Sept. 15, officers questioned Malia, who appeared to be impaired and acknowledged that she had consumed drugs or alcohol.

“When asked to explain the dog’s proximity to her genital area, Nummerdor denied sexual conduct and claimed she had merely been lying with and petting her elderly dog near its bed,” police wrote in the arrest report.

Investigators then asked her to explain how she was positioned and why the dog was between her legs. According to police, Nummerdor could not offer a coherent or consistent explanation, while also noting that another dog was present in the room.

Photos on Malia’s Facebook page show her with Erik, whom she married in 2023, as well as her two sons over the years.

Malia was arrested Sept. 15 and booked into the Charlotte County Jail. Records show she smiled broadly in her mugshot. She has since been released.
