[BENGALURU] Wall Street’s main indices opened lower on Wednesday (Sep 23), pressured by rising crude prices and government bond yields as investors awaited developments from negotiations to end the Middle East conflict ahead of a high-stakes US-China summit.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 92.3 points or 0.18 per cent at the open to 51,771.41.

The S&P 500 fell 2.7 points or 0.03 per cent to 7,761.94.

The Nasdaq Composite dropped 30.8 points or 0.11 per cent to 27,213.519 at the opening bell.

Brent crude prices climbed more than 1 per cent after five straight sessions of declines, though they remained pinned near a two-week low.

Yields on two-year and 10-year US government bonds ticked higher, adding to market concerns that borrowing costs will remain elevated for longer.
