Former AFL Star Mark Hutchings Shares His Partner Died 2 Days After Childbirth

Mark Hutchings is facing a tragic loss.

The former Australian Football League player shared that his partner Hannah died two days after welcoming their daughter Sofia.

“It is with deep sadness that I share the sudden loss of my beautiful partner, Hannah,” Hutchings wrote on Instagram Sept. 24. “I am shattered. Her dream was to become a Mum, so it’s been incredibly difficult to take.”

The Australian rules football player—who retired from the West Coast Eagles in 2021—expressed gratitude for the love he and their newborn received after the devastating loss.

“Thank you for all of your messages of support, I can’t always reply to them all but I do appreciate them,” he concluded. “Sofia and I love you and will miss you very much Hannah.”

Hutchings’ former teammates also shared messages of support, including Nic Naitanui, who wrote, “You’ll be the best Dad for your beautiful daughter, we got you.”
