Samsung’s JBL 80th Anniversary Sale: Which Products Are Discounted

Samsung is marking JBL’s 80th anniversary with an October promotion offering discounts of up to 48% on selected JBL audio products, but the sale is limited to South Korea. JBL, the Harman-owned audio brand, was founded in 1946.

“Samsung Electronics is holding the ‘JBL 80th Anniversary Special Promotion’ from Oct. 1 to 31 through online and offline sales channels,” Samsung said in its Oct. 1 announcement.

The promotion runs from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 across Samsung.com Korea, Naver and Samsung Store locations in South Korea.

Which JBL Products Are Discounted?

The largest advertised discount is on the JBL Grip, an ultra-lightweight portable Bluetooth speaker with an IP68 rating and drop resistance. Samsung is advertising savings of up to 48% on the model.

“JBL GRIP … will be offered at up to 48% off,” Samsung said, describing the speaker as a lightweight portable Bluetooth model with IP68 dust, water and shock resistance. Selected higher-end JBL products are advertised at up to 38% off, including the JBL Tour One M3 headphones, JBL Authentics 300 smart speaker and JBL Tour Pro 3 earbuds.

The discounts are advertised as “up to” figures. Samsung has not published exact before-and-after Korean retail prices for the promotion, so the actual reduction on an individual product may be lower than the advertised maximum.

“Customers who purchase the JBL EasySing Mic Mini or EasySing Mic Duo will receive a JBL GO 5 speaker,” Samsung said. These offers are separate from the advertised percentage discounts and apply to the specified products rather than the entire JBL range.

Samsung’s JBL Anniversary Exhibition

A separate JBL anniversary exhibition will run from Oct. 24 through Oct. 31. The exhibition will cover JBL’s history from the 1940s through its current product lineup and will include a first public look at JBL’s newly unveiled 800 Series Diamond D5 flagship speaker.

Samsung is also running a Bowers & Wilkins 60th-anniversary exhibition during the same period. “The full lineup of the recently unveiled 800 Series Diamond D5 flagship speaker will also be displayed,” Samsung said.

This Is A Korea-Only Promotion

The most important detail for shoppers outside South Korea is the region restriction. “This special promotion will be held through major online malls such as Samsung.com and Naver, as well as offline Samsung Stores,” Samsung said. The advertised prices and gifts therefore should not be assumed to apply to Samsung’s U.S., India, U.K. or other regional storefronts.

Shoppers in South Korea, the JBL Grip carries the promotion’s highest advertised discount at up to 48%, while selected JBL headphones, earbuds and speakers are advertised at up to 38% off. Outside Korea, this is an anniversary promotion to know about, not a sale that automatically applies to local Samsung stores.
