NFL fans react to Derrick Henry’s revenge touchdown against ex-team
A dicey price tag comes along with being a Tennessee Titans fan, at least for the past couple of seasons, especially when it comes to the loss of superstar running back Derrick Henry, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2024 after spending his entire career in the Music City.
So when it comes time for the King to face off against his ex (team), who is a tragic 0-3, there are a ton of other things Titans fans would rather experience than watch Henry slip into the end zone for a touchdown. For example:
- Standing on Nissan’s turf barefoot in 107 degree weather
- Watching Marcus Mariota’s 2016 season-ending fractured fibula injury in slow motion on an endless loop
- Live through the past three losses in a “Groundhog Day” type situation
- Whatever that entire Isaiah Wilson situation was
Alas, Henry will eventually Henry, even against the team he gave everything to.
Within the first minutes of the Titans at Baltimore showdown on Sunday, Henry demonstrated why he’s one of the best RBs in the league. On 4th and 1, Henry quickly found himself in the end zone, striking first blood against Tennessee.
While Titans fans started flooding to the Witness Protection Program, fans of football kicked up their heels and let the reactions fly.
“Derrick Henry scoring against the Titans is just him dropping by his old office to remind them what they let walk out the door,” one person said on X.
“Facing the franchise where he spent eight seasons and complied 9008 rushing yards marks his first career game against Tennessee since joining Baltimore,” another pointed out.
“Against his former team too?! Derrick Henry really said no hard feelings, just touchdowns,” someone noted.
“And Titans fans still trying to pretend letting him walk was a ‘smart business decision,’” one person commented. “This is exactly what happens when you choose analytics over a king.”
