Giants vs. Commanders: Preview, prediction, what to watch for in Week 5

An inside look at Sunday’s Giants-Commanders matchup in Washington:

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels vs. Giants defensive front

This could really be Daniels vs. the entire defense.

It takes a village when going against Daniels, one of the most elusive players in the league. You think you have him and then you don’t.

Will Daniels be hesitant to run for fear of re-injuring his left elbow?

He had 100 rushing yards in the first two games and is a real threat with his legs.

Edge rushers Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux will have to keep him in the pocket, no easy task.

Daniels is 3-0 in his career against the Giants, completing 70 percent of his passes, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

He also has 147 rushing yards.

Key stat

6-0: Dan Quinn’s record against the Giants as a head coach — 4-0 with the Commanders and 2-0 with the Falcons.

He is one of two head coaches with an unbeaten record against the Giants (minimum five games) according to Stats Perform.

Sean McVay of the Rams is 5-0.

Paul’s pick

Rain, again.

The Giants are used to this, and it will be interesting to see if familiarity with sloppy conditions helps for this road game on real grass.

Can Jameis Winston limit his mistakes?

And can Abdul Carter and Arvell Reese help keep elusive Jayden Daniels under wraps?

Giants 20, Commanders 16
