Vikings to be without two star wide receivers vs Saints
The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the New Orleans Saints in Week 5, but they have learned that they will be doing so without two of their star wide receivers.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Vikings wide receivers Jordan Addison and Odell Beckham Jr. will both be inactive for the game. In some better news, wide receiver Justin Jefferson is active.
It’s certainly not the news Vikings fans were hoping to hear as the team looks to continue fending off the rest of the NFC North as it sits in first place.
However, it seems like the hamstring injury that Addison tweaked late in the team’s Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins is a little more serious then previously thought.
Addison’s absence will surely be felt, too. Through the first four games of the season, he has 11 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Vikings just added Beckham this past Wednesday. It remains to be seen why he won’t play this week, but it could just be because he isn’t caught up enough on the playbook.
Either way, Minnesota will now be forced to rely on its reinforcements, including wide receivers Jauan Jennings and Tai Felton and tight end T.J. Hockenson.
