Sydney Sweeney Breaks the Internet as She Ditches Top in New Novig Sports Betting Ad After Backlash for Appearing Unclothed
Sydney Sweeney is breaking the internet after once again baring skin in a new advertisement. The “Euphoria” star dropped another Novig commercial on Sunday, following criticism last month over an earlier campaign for the sports-prediction and trading app in which she appeared undressed.
In the latest spot, Sweeney wears only white underwear bearing the Novig name. “There are grown men making spreadsheets to bet on what color underwear I’m wearing,” she says in the ad. “I mean, I’m flattered?” she adds. The NSFW video she posted Sunday has since gone viral on social media. At one point in the commercial, the 29-year-old actress uses two footballs to cover her breasts.
Sweeney Goes Wild
She then says, “There’s someone sitting in a bathroom stall and betting their 401k on a w–re, and then, there are just people who trade on sports. Novig is… just sports,” she concludes.
Fans responded with an outpouring of support for the “Christy” star, with many predicting that the latest ad would spark even greater controversy.
One fan wrote, “She finna piss them off again lol,” while another praised the campaign, commenting, “I love this! And I love all the Jealous Girls, yelling when they see another new Spot ❤️.” A third joked, “I think Sydney loves being hated .”
Sweeney has shown no signs of backing down from her provocative sports advertising, even as critics accuse the campaign of sexualizing female athletes and suggesting that women’s place in sports revolves solely around their physical appearance.
Last month, she hit back at the criticism by sharing more revealing images from the campaign on Instagram.
She also posted pictures of athletes such as Serena Williams, Ronda Rousey, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jason Kelce, all of whom have appeared unclothed on different covers of ESPN’s renowned Body Issue.
No End to the Controversy
Sharon Stone, who stars alongside Sweeney in “Euphoria,” recently weighed in on the controversy, saying the “Anyone But You” actress needed to “take responsibility for her actions.”
Speaking to People, Stone said her role was “to be a cheerleader for the women who have made it through and become champions in women’s sports.”

The 68-year-old “Basic Instinct” star also argued that women’s sports should not be used to attract male attention.
“We can’t denigrate women’s sports to get men’s attention so they can gamble,” she said.
