Keri Russell Reveals She and Matthew Rhys Had “Sex All the Time” While in Costume on The Americans

The beasts in Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys came out while filming The Americans. 

Indeed, The Diplomat actress revealed she and The Beast in Me star—who began dating while filming the spy drama in 2013—had quite the steamy start to their relationship, sharing they “had sex all the time” while dressed as their characters Elizabeth and Philip Jennings.

“We were falling in love and staying up all night,” Russell told Chelsea Handler during a recent episode of her Dear Chelsea podcast, adding of their sex life that they were often “wearing disguises.”

She added, “Like, I’m f–king [in] crazy wigs and wearing pearls.”

And in their excitement, they didn’t always make it home before getting it on. As Russell put it, “When have you ever worn pearls and [been] f–king in trailers and f–king everywhere. I mean, it was insanity.”

And while the pair have been together for over a decade, Rusell can’t help but blush over their escapades. 

“It was so fun and sneaky,” she said, “and sexy and so good.”
